PUB / SPECIALTY BEERS
We brew quite a variety of beers, and of course, are not able to bottle them all. Fortunately we have three unique pubs in which to pour these creations. Some we brew on a more regular basis and some are one-off experiments we may only pour a keg of. Highlighted below are a list of some of our more common pub specialty beers. For those who are curious, the number of beers Elysian has ever brewed has passed the big 1–0–0. Of course, that number is styles – if you count batches, we are well past our 2000th brew which was Imperial Avatar in 2009.
Dry-hopped ipa
Our Immortal IPA with even more hops.
Stolen fire (Prometheus) ipa
Pale orange, fruity, hoppy and strong.
Daedalus irish stout
A perfectly constructed Irish stout. Stately, plump. Nitrogen-poured, Irish-style dry stout.
Hubris imperial ipa
Our hop delivery device. For all you hop-heads out there – you know who you are.
Bete Blanche
Deceptive and delicious Belgian-style Tripel. A twist on the French expression “Bête Noire.” Bête Blanche is extremely drinkable, blonde, and somewhat treacherous.
Cyclops Barley wine “Old one-eye”
The biggest of beers. Caramel and raisin maltiness with a clobber of hoppiness and a little astringency… potent.
Loki Lager
A smooth Dortmund-style lager. Named for the Norse god and jester Loki, this beer is a North German-style lager, orangey-gold in color, with a touch more malt than a classic pilsner.
Pandora’s Bock
Unleash the unknown. A gift from Zeus, Pandora came to earth with a box which when opened released all the ills that now afflict mankind.
Foster child Australian lager
Elysian for beer. Extremely sessionable — drink without abandon.
Saison Elysee
Our classic Belgian-style farmhouse ale. Sweet malty aromatics, spicy taste and dry finish — a funky summer’s day brew.
Saison poivre
A Belgian farmhouse ale with a fiery and aromatic touch.
Yuzu’s Belgian-style golden ale
Light. Refreshing. Good. A citrus-y, thirst-quenching beer that won’t weigh you down.
Barca bitter
For our friends at the Barca Lounge. As traditional a British bitter as we’ve done.
Poison dwarf Scottish-style ale
What can a poor boy do? Poison dwarves are what Keith Richards and others have called the tough little street fighting men of Glasgow — ruthlessly hoppy for a Scottish ale.
Arboreal Chestnut Brown
To deal with your nutty relatives. Inspired by the Chestnut beers of Corsica, for the holiday season.
Bete Noel
Belgian-style Christmas ale.The dark side of the holidays, as treacherous as its paler sister.
Bye-bye frost
Encourages hibernation. An extremely strong pale ale to warm up cold winter souls.
